About the Career Pathways Fair
The Career Pathways Fair started as part of the 2015 SPE Offshore Europe Conference in Aberdeen, UK. The aim was to connect young aspiring engineers to speak to more experienced professionals about the realities and opportunities open to them. Booths were set up representing different roles across the industry. This allowed students and young professionals to ask questions and ensure they had the necessary skills to maximize available opportunities. In 2019, we ventured to take this opportunity virtual, with SPE's first fully online event. This opened up these same opportunities to a global audience, as well as being able to use the platform to bring together the vast amount of resources SPE has to support members' development. This platform became a vital resource in the following years during the pandemic, and is now one of SPE's most valuable young member programs. The Career Pathways Fair now runs as both physical and virtual programs, allowing SPE to showcase our most valuable resource; our members passion, experience, and expertise.
