I am a Lead Research Scientist in Saudi Aramco since 2015. Before then, I was a Senior Research Engineer at the Research Institute, Center for Integrative Petroleum Research, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia for six years, and a total working experience of 25 years. With a PhD in Computer Science, my research focuses on automating geological and petroleum engineering workflows with the application of Machine Learning technologies to increase accuracy, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity. I have published over 80 papers, filed and have been granted several patents, and received a number of R&D awards. I received the SPE Middle East and North Africa Regional Service and Data Science and Engineering Analytics awards in 2021. I am also a member of EAGE, a former board member of the SPE Drilling Uncertainty Prediction Technical Section, technical reviewer of reputable SPE and EAGE conferences, and machine learning application-focused journals, and I have mentored tens of young professionals.
