Mistura Yusuf (Badru) is the Founder of MisstyBs Educational Foundation whose major activities are Reward for academic excellence, Women Empowerment with entrepreneurial skills and recently added – Mentorship program for undergraduates.
She is professionally a Process Engineer who has over 3 years experience working under Utility Operations at the largest single train Refinery in the World, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemical, Nigeria. Also worked within the Raw Water Treatment Plant, Compressed Air and Nitrogen Generation, Reverse Osmosis, Demineralization Plant and Cooling Tower unit.
Mistura Yusuf obtained a Bachelors Degree in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from the Lagos State University (LASU) in 2015. She won 2022 PTDF Overseas Scholarship to start an Executive Masters in Energy Engineering and Management at the Hector Business School of Engineering and Management, Germany. She hopes to venture into the renewable energy space/hydrogen generation post studies.
She is also a member of several professional bodies that have been pivotal to her growth within the Oil and Gas Industry globally. Currently a member of the Young Professional Committee, SPE International and the Chairperson for the Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) Young Professional Workshop, SPE Nigeria. She has been an active volunteer for Lagos Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) from the university to serving as a Board member in 2022. She has held several leadership positions within SPE like Young Shall Grow Committee Chairperson, Student Liaison Officer, Contest Judge amongst others.
Mistura has won several Local, Regional and International awards including the SPE International 2022 Giovani Paccaloni Young Member Award recognizing her impactful contributions within and outside the society and Africa Regional Young Professional Member Outstanding Service Award in 2021.
For leisure, Mistura loves to plan events, travel, draw henna arts and spend time with her family. She is personally very passionate about STEM education and Sustainable Development Goals and continues to give back to her community in these capacities.
